The East Coast Conference, an NCAA Division II athletic conference, is accepting applications for a Director of Media. The Director of Media will serve as the conference’s primary sports media contact for all sports and championships. This role offers an opportunity for learning, growth, creativity and working with member institutions on media output. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, advanced planner, with the ability to manage and work effectively remotely. Candidates are expected to reside in the geographic footprint of the conference.
Key Responsibilities
1. Serve as the conference’s primary sports media contact for all sports and championships.
2. Responsible for daily collection of results, news and ECC Daily Scoreboard.
3. Responsible for daily maintenance and updates for ECC Website including writing and publishing content applicable to sports and championships.
4. Coordinate All-Conference balloting with conference’s coaches including participating in coaches’ meetings, tallying votes, and promoting them through different media outlets.
5. Produce content for the East Coast Conference social media platforms including designing graphics for the conference's weekly and yearly award programs.
6. Work with the Assistant Commissioner to develop an annual media plan including specific initiatives, activities, and success markers for each academic year.
7. Creation of videos highlighting championships, special events, and commercial spots for broadcast enhancements.
8. Assist in Championship broadcast operations and productions.
9. Additional Duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications and Key Attributes
Bachelor’s Degree required
Minimum of 1-2 years working in related field of college athletics
Experience with social media and graphic design preferred.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent verbal, written, and online communication skills are important
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Certain times of the year will require travel, night, and weekend work
