The Ticket Operations Intern delivers exceptional customer service to fans, donors, and season ticket holders for athletic events. This role offers hands-on experience with Paciolan ticketing software, assisting in ticket sales, distribution, and event operations, while managing customer interactions and supporting marketing and sales initiatives.
Position Duties:
Provide premier customer service to fans, donors, and season ticket holders via phone, email, and in-person interactions, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner
Assist with window and phone sales for all ticketed athletic events using Paciolan software
Communicate ticket, parking, and donor information to all fans for athletic events effectively and accurately
Handle distribution of both electronic and physical tickets, ensuring prompt and accurate delivery
Supervise ticket operations for designated sports during the fall/winter/spring seasons
Collaborate with the marketing team on ticket sales strategies and timelines aimed at meeting revenue and attendance goals
Support outbound sales efforts
Assist with all Big Ten Tournament and NCAA Tournament ticket operations hosted on campus
Develop a thorough understanding of ticketing operations and NCAA compliance
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the ticket operations team
Minimum Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for game day responsibilities
Preferences:
Previous experience in a ticket office or event-related role
Familiarity with ticketing software or point-of-sale systems; experience with Paciolan a plus
Knowledge of University of Maryland athletic events
Physical Demands: Work is performed in an office environment and requires operation of standard office devices such as computers, phones, copy machines, etc. Position requires the ability to attend athletic events in various locations and requires standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Salary: $18.00 per hour. There is the potential to earn overtime pay.
