Duties & Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of all contracts related to student-athletes.
• Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks associated with contracts and propose mitigating strategies, ensuring compliance with recent legal rulings such as the House and Oliver cases.
• Revenue Sharing Compliance: Ensure contracts reflect current revenue-sharing models with student-athletes and comply with applicable laws and NCAA regulations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and external parties to understand their needs and provide effective contract solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contract negotiations and final agreements.
• Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to contract management within the athletics department, considering recent legal precedents.
• Training: Provide training and guidance to department staff on contract-related matters, best practices, and the implications of recent legal decisions.
• Financial Oversight: Work with the finance department to ensure contracts are financially viable and align with budgetary constraints.
• Dispute Resolution: Work with our Office of General Counsel to address and resolve any contract-related disputes in a timely and effective manner.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Sports Management, or a related field.
• Seven years of experience in compliance or contract negotiation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Business Administration (MBA.).
• Experience in a collegiate athletics setting.
