The Opportunity Rice University seeks a strategic and entrepreneurial fundraising leader to serve in the newly created position of Senior Director of Development, Athletics. The Senior Director of Development, Athletics will be responsible for developing and executing the fundraising strategy for athletic campaign priorities in consort with the Director of Athletics.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Development, the Senior Director of Development, Athletics will work collaboratively with coaches, athletic staff and development colleagues in support of the fundraising initiatives for Rice Athletics as well as the mission and priorities of Rice University.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of securing gift commitments of $100K to $4.9M and will exemplify an entrepreneurial spirit to mobilize the aspirations of donors in supporting the efforts of Rice University to provide student athletes with opportunity to secure their academic success and athletic competitiveness.
Develops and manages a portfolio of major gift prospects through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors with an emphasis on $250,000+ gifts
Identifies fundraising priorities and devises plans and strategies to accomplish goals
Works collaboratively with coaches, athletic staff and development colleagues in support of fundraising initiatives
