Indian Hills Community College is an NJCAA Division I institution. The Head Coach reports to the Vice President, Student Development & Operations and is responsible for managing all aspects of the women’s wrestling programs located on the Centerville, IA campus. The head coach must make prospective student-athletes aware of all policies and procedures and be committed to fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for faculty, staff and students. The head coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to, student athlete recruitment, scheduling events, conducting camps, facility oversight and maintaining an operating and scholarship budget for the program.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Successful coaching and recruiting experience at the collegiate level is preferred
Must relate well to people and display a high degree of competency within the discipline. Must show a high level of organizational skills and a willingness to successfully work independently.
Perform recruitment duties relative to the women’s wrestling program in cooperation with Athletic Director and in accordance with NJCAA Division I rules and regulations.
Schedule, organize and oversee all practices and regular season events. Organize travel and game day preparations.
In cooperation with Athletic Director, maintain operating and scholarship budget for the women’s wrestling program.
Evaluate student-athlete performance in practice and at events and design plans/strategies for improvement.
Provide individual and group instruction focused on the technical improvement of the individual.
Facilitate wrestling camps as directed.
Coordinate and/or assist in athletic booster club activities.
Assist Athletic Department Administrative Assistant to ensure payment of officials is processed.
Maintain a high level of professionalism toward student-athletes and other coaches, peers, parents, and members of the community.
Promote student body support for athletic events.
Work diligently for placement at four-year colleges and universities for successful student athletes in the Indian Hills Community College women’s wrestling program.
Be responsible for the conduct of student-athletes athletically, academically and socially on and off the mat.
Maintain a monitoring system of class attendance and satisfactory progress toward each player’s educational goal.
Dress, act and represent Indian Hills Community College appropriately at all athletic events, practices and activities.
Monitor financial aid packages for all recruits to assure that educational costs, as well as room/board costs, are properly tracked for the Indian Hills Foundation and Business Office, Athletic Department and National Junior College Athletic Association.
Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
Aid in facility maintenance.
Inventory and maintain equipment.
Assist the Indian Hills Marketing Department with press releases and handle public relations associated with the wrestling program.
Develop a high quality recruitment program supported with a written, well defined plan including recruitment, scheduling, contacts and results.
Conduct other duties with equal diligence and effort as given to the athletic program.
Participate and assist with IHCC Foundation activities.
Perform other duties as may be assigned.
