This is a salaried internship position to be paid $25,000 annually. The approximate start date is June 2, 2025, but is flexible. This position is intended to give full-time, hands-on experience and to prepare the individual for a full-time position working in student-athlete academics at the collegiate level.

The Lindahl Academic Center is a student-athlete focused environment dedicated to guiding student-athletes to graduation, building positive relationships, and enhancing their overall experience. We strive to serve the University and our constituents with integrity and professionalism. Individuals interested in this position will have the opportunity to work in a highly competitive program, participate in job-specific training, and gain full-time experience and a variety of skills within the student-athlete academic sector.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Meet with assigned students weekly assisting with academic progress monitoring and planning.
Serve as a learning assistant in one-on-one or group settings and provide organizational and learning strategy objectives.
Develop daily, weekly, and monthly goals and timelines with individual student-athletes.
Create and monitor weekly objective sheets for students in consultation with academic advisors and learning specialists.
Assure student-athletes with documented learning disabilities are properly utilizing their accommodations.
Assist advisors and learning specialists in daily tasks. Examples include: Compiling reports (study hall, grades, class schedules, attendance, etc.), Recruiting, Monitoring daily and/or evening study halls, University and Academic Center orientation.
Participate in training focusing on academic advising and learning specialist curriculums.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Education and Qualifications:
Master’s degree or pursuing a master’s degree in psychology, education, counseling, or a related field.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and problem solve.
Must successfully pass a mandatory criminal background check.
Flexible hours, with some night and weekend work.
Preferred Education and Qualifications:
This position requires the ability to accomplish tasks, a desire to work in academic support for student-athletes, with minimal supervision, excellent listening, written, and verbal skills.
