Position Summary: The Facilities & Grounds Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director, Facilities & Event Management. The position serves as the primary point-of-contact for all Athletics grounds/landscape and turf management, and the position oversees select athletic facilities and serves as the primary and/or secondary game/event manager for assigned intercollegiate athletic contests. Moreover, the position oversees the day-to-day management of all turf maintenance, grooming, repairs, etc. and manages partnerships with applicable vendors and contractors related to the beautification of athletic facilities. The position is also responsible for event setup and breakdown as well as the day-to-day facility maintenance of assigned facilities; including but not limited to maintenance, grounds, landscaping, IT, network/televisions, custodial, concessions/catering, etc. The position will assist with the execution of assigned intercollegiate athletic contests as well as third-party special events/rentals.
Essential Job Functions:
Function: The position performs routine maintenance, cleaning and grooming of all athletic turf practice and competition fields. (30%)
Function: The position performs daily facility checks to identify maintenance and other issues that require addressing. The position also performs daily tasks to beautify all athletic facilities, including weed eating, pressure washing, event setup, event breakdown, supply organization, etc. (20%)
Function: Works with Campus Facilities Services to maintain the look and feel of athletic facilities, athletic fields and the athletic complex as a whole. Works with third-party contractors to perform repairs and upgrades to athletic facilities. Assists with facility enhancement projects, as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director, Facilities & Event Management. (20%)
Function: Acts a secondary game/event manager for Tulane Baseball and primary game/event manager for one to three other intercollegiate programs on an annual basis. Performs lead-up and gameday role associated with Tulane Football home gamedays. (20%)

Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration or Closely-Related Field
Previous experience in Ground/Landscaping & Turf Management
Previous Experience at the NCAA DI Level

Ensures that all Department of Athletics and university-related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the athletic department’s efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
