Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and a Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire an individual for the full-time position of Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Development. This is a 12-month, full-time position. This position will report directly to the Assistant AD of Student-Athlete Development and NIL. Applicants must have a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of WKU, Conference USA and the NCAA.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Direct oversight of all community engagement for WKU student-athletes and the Hilltopper CLIMB program.
Assist in organizing and executing multi-year development program including but not limited to: personal skills, inclusion, career and professional development, community service and leadership.
Serve as a staff advisor for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
Organize and advise large scale community engagement projects and initiatives for all athletic programs and SAAC.
Manage and update data tracking system for all career development workshops, Hilltopper CLIMB opportunities, and all community engagement efforts within the athletic department.
Individually meet with student-athletes to provide guidance and coaching pertaining to the pillars of the Hilltopper CLIMB Program: professional development, community engagement, leadership development, personal development/life skills, and SAAC.
Assists in developing, teaching, and coaching student-athletes through Hilltopper CLIMB Program Workshops.
Facilitates leadership development programing through the Hilltopper CLIMB Leadership Academy.
Contributes to the planning and execution of the WKU Athletics TOPSYs awards
Maintain relationships with local schools and community organizations to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships for student-athletes and organizations.
Assists in the recruitment and relationship management of local businesses participating in the Hilltopper CLIMB Overtime Program, The Student-Athlete Career Fair and other career development initiatives.
Lead branding and creation of Hilltopper CLIMB presentations and informational materials.
Assist in event planning associate with the “Tops on 3”, “Tops are More”, “Hilltoppers with Heart” and other student-athlete initiatives.
Assist in coordinating and executing networking and mentoring initiatives among current student-athletes and alumni while maintaining an up-to-date alumni database.
Assist in the management of the Hilltopper CLIMB Social Media account, effectively telling stories of student-athletes success and involvement

Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Must be self-motivated and team-oriented.
Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Must be willing and able to flexible hours, including work evenings and weekends.
