Summary       

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the baseball program.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Perform all duties and responsibilities assigned by the Athletic Director
• Planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating daily practice sessions
• Organizing and conducting the program workout
• Recruiting athletes
• Coordinating all the activities with the Athletic Director, Financial Aid Office, Dean of Students Office.
• Scheduling of games
• Budget preparation and maintenance
• Travel to off-campus competitions
• Representing the college to other appropriate officials such as those from the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference and the NJCAA
• Maintaining a working knowledge of NJCAA and Region V rules and regulations
• Participation in the instructional program of the college as qualified
• Attending college events and helping develop and maintain good relations with the faculty, administration, support staff and community
• Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the need of the department and the institution.

Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline

Required Experience:

Prior coaching experience required

Prior baseball coaching or playing experience at the NJCAA level or higher preferred

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Eligible to attain CDL drivers license
• Ability to work effectively with a student population from diverse cultural and social backgrounds
• Ability to facilitate student learning through a variety of methods
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Exhibition of respect and professionalism in a spirit of collegiality
• Microsoft Office proficient
• Ability to promote an effective environment for athletic ability
