GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Coordinator of Campus Recreation Services under the supervision of the Athletics Director is responsible for the overall organization and administration of recreation and athletic facilities. Primary duties include the management and oversight of Saurwein Health & Wellness Center including, but not limited to: facility and event management and operations; risk management; personnel management; customer service; and fiscal administration. The Coordinator of Campus Recreation Services provides leadership and management of campus recreation activities, services, and operations and serves as an integral partner with a variety of campus divisions to supplement the academic program and support total student success. This position will also serve on the Athletics Director’s management team and be subject to responsibilities within the Athletics Department (e.g. game day management for some sports)

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Reports directly to the Athletics Director. The Coordinator works collaboratively with and may receive professional development growth, opportunity, and mentorship from the Director of Athletics.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

This position will oversee one graduate assistants, and student staff for game management, the Saurwein Health and Wellness Center, and intramural sports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises, evaluates, and schedules all full time, contract and student employees for the Saurwein Health and Wellness Center and Intramural Sports
• May assist and collaborate with the Director of Athletics and athletic division staff for game management activities.
• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Saurwein Health & Wellness Center and the Athletic Weight room.
• Organize and execute programming in conjunction with the Tiffin YMCA, the Stoner Health & Counseling Center, counseling services, athletics and academic departments. 

• Promote participation in recreational programming among diverse groups.

• Develop, implement and supervise intramural and club sports.  
• Work collaboratively with Athletics head coaches, assistant coaches and recreation and wellness programming staff who use the facilities for scheduling and space assignments.
• Input schedules from all athletics and recreation programs scheduling software as well as online reservation software.  Develop and review recommendations for long-range planning, recreation services goals and objectives and standard operating procedures.

• Attend athletic department and divisional meetings as necessary.

• Serve as a first responder for emergency situations and providing emergency care, providing customer service, resolving conflicts and making decisions and judgments regarding program and facility usage.

• Organize and plan University-wide seminars on wellness-related topics throughout the year. 

• Collaborate with other Student Affairs personnel, academic units, faculty, staff, and students to provide opportunities for student learning, e.g., internships, service-learning, practicums.
