The assistant director of strategic communications is a liaison with the media and general public on all matters relative to Mizzou Athletics. This position serves as the primary media contact for assigned sports and is a key member of the strategic communications staff.

CONTENT

• Serves as the primary content creator and storyteller for assigned sports, including creating graphics, written and video materials, digital publications and social media plans.

BRANDING

• Develops creative and innovative methods to enhance the program’s brand voice and media presence across all current and emerging platforms including acting as the primary social contact for assigned sports.

MEDIA RELATIONS

• Coordinates all internal and external publicity (press releases, features, game notes, programs, statistics, and records) for assigned sports, including facilitating program interview and media requests with local, regional, national and sports-specific outlets.

EVENTS

• Directs event coverage for assigned sports and assist in game and practice coverage for additional sports.
