The Assistant Director of Athletics Communications will serve as the primary media Women’s Basketball and any additional assigned sports This position will actively participates in game day operations, utilize creative freedom to create engaging media coverage which may include competition photography and produce creative social media content that is engaging and assists in recruiting, and participate in the pitching and writing of feature stories about coaches, student-athletes and staff. This individual will also oversee student assistants and serve as a liaison to other Athletic Department units.

Required Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in public relations, mass communications, journalism or related field. *Note: Students in the final semester of a Bachelor’s Degree program, may be allowed to complete a credential examination and will receive full consideration, including being interviewed. An offer may be extended with understanding that proof of degree based on institution is provided to the employing institution Human Resources Office at least two weeks before the proposed start date. 2. One (1) year (12 months) of professional experience working in the athletic communications/sports information field. 3. Strong communication skills. 4. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms.

Desired Qualifications: 1. Master's Degree 2. Experience in writing and editing 3. Experience in Professional or Intercollegiate Athletics. 4. Familiarity with NCAA Live Stats 5. 1 year social media content creation background.

Work Hours: Core working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. Nights and weekends frequently required.

Functional Expectations: Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation:1. Remain at workstation for extended periods. 2. Move about in various locations across campus as needed to complete day-to-day work. 3. Effectively communicate on a daily basis.

Proposed Starting Date: August 2022

Salary Rate / Pay Rate: $40,000 - $42,000
