Drake University is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletics Business Services to join the athletics department administration team. This individual will report to the Associate Athletic Director of Finance and Operations. As the Assistant Director of Athletics Business Services, this individual will be responsible for administering and coordinating business, fiscal, and administrative functions for the Athletics Department including, budget and program management for multiple units and reconciling financial data. The Assistant Director of Athletics Business Services will be responsible for managing the budget needs for the teams that follows university policy and adheres to NCAA and MVC guidelines. This position is eligible for a customized work arrangement.

• 50% Assist with administering and coordinating business, fiscal and administrative functions for the Athletics Department including budget and program management for multiple units and reconciling financial data.
• 25% Provide daily transaction oversight for the fiscal and business affairs associated with the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, including purchasing card reconciliation.
• 10% Responsible for scheduled events travel/permissions, purchasing equipment and uniforms, and managing the budget needs for the teams that follows university policy and within the NCAA and MVC guidelines.
• 5% Provide guidance to coaches on university, NCAA, and conference business policies and procedures related to team issues.
• 5% Assist with preparation and management of annual budget of approximately $10M. Monitor use of restricted athletic gifts. Prepare monthly financial budget reports for individual units and athletic teams. Support the preparation of work papers for annual audit and work with internal and external auditors to resolve issues.
• 5% Manage all aspects of submission, payment, and recordkeeping of bills for all athletic department expenses. Responsible for deposit of cash receipts, and completion of journal entries or budget revisions as needed.

• 0% All of the duties described above require an understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the Pioneer Football League, Summit League and Drake University.

A minimum of two years of administration or business management experience.
