The Great Northwest Athletic Conference, based in Portland, Ore., is accepting applications for a 10-month (August 15, 2022-May 15, 2023) internship. This internship is designed to expose the successful candidate to many aspects of intercollegiate athletic administration at the Division II conference level, with a primary focus on compliance and championships management. This position requires the ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays, and travel to meetings and championship events.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating the conference NLI program, including validating and processing the NLI’s; monitoring and organizing conference game management and athletic training documents; assisting with tracking the conference hotel program; compiling and distributing weekly reports on conference surveys, and assisting with conference activities related to NCAA governance and legislation. 

CHAMPIONSHIPS RESPONSIBILITIES
Serve as conference ticketing and promotion lead at GNAC championship events, including oversight of online ticket sales.  Assist conference championships coordinator in logistical preparation for championship events, including staffing, event operations, and game management.  Work with student-athletes, coaches and administrators to develop ideas for championship enhancement and promotion. 

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required. The successful candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented. Must be able to multi-task in a moderate to fast-paced work environment and have the ability to manage and prioritize several ongoing projects. One to two years of related experience in a college athletic department is preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to travel and work nights and weekends according to conference schedules required.

COMPENSATION:  This is a 10-month appointment (Aug. 15, 2022 through May 15, 2023) at an average of 35 hours per work week depending on the conference championships schedule. The hourly wage is $15.00 per hour.  This is a temporary position with no medical insurance or retirement benefits.
