Among the key duties of this position are: Coordinating all aspects of media coverage for men’s soccer, women’s basketball and tennis programs at Rutgers as assigned by Senior Assoc. AD, Communications. Devise communication strategies to secure placements in local and national media outlets. Utilize current and emerging media channels to drive brand awareness . Manage games/events in relation to media, public relations, social media and other related external activities. Maintain record keeping and archives for assigned sports, ensuring accuracy of historical content. Express cross-departmental collaboration in promoting the initiatives of other Rutgers Athletics units, including but not limited to marketing, fund-raising, ticket sales and capital projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, sports management or related fields.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills;
• Extensive computer experience is necessary;
• Strong knowledge of sports statistics and Statcrew, and Genius software;
• Experience with desktop publishing software (Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative suites).
