Salem University’s Assistant Athletic Director-Compliance is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and review of Salem University’s compliance program. This individual oversees the daily operation of the compliance program including rules education, rules interpretations, and coordinating rules compliance efforts. In an effort to maintain full compliance with NCAA and conference legislation, as well as meet its obligation to the principle of Institutional Control.

Responsibilities: •Evaluate current athletics programs to determine and ensure highest levels of compliance and record keeping. •Provide administration of NCAA compliance programs, including but not limited to, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, recruiting, and practice and playing seasons. •Monitor student-athlete eligibility, progress toward degree, recruiting and financial aid information to ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations. •Provide a program of continuing rules education and interpretation for student-athletes, athletics staff, coaches, boosters, alumni and institutional staff; •Identify, investigate and report, as necessary, any and all NCAA or conference rules violations; •Provide reports detailing varying areas and levels of compliance to the Director of Athletics, the Faculty Athletic Representative, and University Administration, the President or others as necessary. •Serve as the liaison between the Department of Athletics and the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, Student Affairs, and Financial Aid for all compliance-related services.

• Must possess high standards of personal integrity and experience handling highly confidential materials and information with discretion.

• Must have experience communicating in multiple formats clearly, concisely and effectively.

• Must be detail oriented, organized and analytical.

• Must be able to work some nights and weekends.

• Ability to work with a diverse population and personalities.

• Experience working in an Athletics Compliance Office, Conference Office, or NCAA Compliance setting at the Division I or II level. Experience working with Compliance Assistant Software and other computer software.
