The WAC is an NCAA Division I conference currently located in the southern metro Denver area with the intent to relocate its Conference headquarters to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the Fall of 2022.

Member institutions include Abilene Christian University, California Baptist University, Chicago State University, Grand Canyon University, Lamar University, New Mexico State University, Sam Houston State University, Seattle University, Stephen F. Austin State University, Tarleton State University, Utah Tech University, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and Utah Valley University. Southern Utah University, The University of the Incarnate Word and The University of Texas at Arlington will join the WAC in 2022-23. The WAC crowns team and individual champions in 20 sports – 10 men’s and 10 women’s.

General Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Western Athletic Conference membership in understanding NCAA and WAC rules and interpretations through telephone calls, written correspondence, and virtual and in-person presentations.
• Tracking NCAA legislative and interpretive issues and communicating the information to WAC athletics administrators and other impacted parties.
• Serving as the liaison to the WAC Compliance Administrators and Academic Administrators groups. Duties include organizing, preparing rules education material and reports for monthly videoconferences.
• Responsible for the administration of NCAA violations reports.
• Developing NCAA legislation material for Conference membership.
• Processing NCAA and Conference waivers and appeals.
• Oversight of the WAC’s NCAA Coaches Certification program.
• Reviewing and processing National Letters of Intent.
• Responsible for maintenance of the WAC Compliance Corner web page.
• Assisting with the WAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
• Assist with operational duties at the WAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament, and other Conference championship events as assigned.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Desired Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in NCAA Division I compliance, with experience at a Division I institution/conference office with football preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven experience working directly with a variety of constituencies is desired.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and quickly change priorities, as necessary.
