The primary responsibility of the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities & Events is to serve as the coordinator for all sport programs and athletic events, and to act as the department’s liaison in scheduling and maintaining all athletic facilities.

Responsibilities:

-Manage and coordinate the staffing of all home athletic events. -Collaborate with RMC Events staff to select and assign staff needs for all necessary home athletic events. -Communicate with Campus Police to staff event security as well as coordinate parking and traffic flow. -Develop procedures for the game day staff members and provide training for these staff members on an ongoing basis. -Monitor all game day staff during athletic events and ensure all athletic department standards and policies are being upheld. -Serve as the game day facilities contact/coordinator for all home football, men and women’s basketball games and Olympic sports games. -Prepare effectively by communicating with all visiting teams, officials, and part-time staff and provide them with detailed instructions for their arrivals. -Manage and coordinate all staffing needs for these events by collaborating with RMC Events and Campus Police. -Act as the primary liaison for the athletic department to troubleshoot and solve any issues or problems that arise throughout the events. -Monitor the care and maintenance of the Robins Center office environment as well as all athletic fields and facilities -Communicate effectively with the Deputy Athletic Director all issues pertaining to facility and event management. -Provide recommendations for care of all athletic facilities to the appropriate University facilities contact. -Prioritize projects and facility’s needs and seek services from University physical plant (housekeeping, landscaping, electrical, etc.) to meet the needs of the department. -Serve as the primary contact within the athletic department to field all questions and issues pertaining to offices and athletic facilities. -Manage and coordinate all aspects of hosting outside groups utilizing University of Richmond athletic facilities. -Assist the Associate Athletic Director for Business in contract negotiations for all for-profit outside groups requesting use of University of Richmond athletic facilities. -Ensure all procedures are in compliance with NCAA rules and regulations. -Manage the staff and equipment needs of all groups and monitor the invoicing and payment for use of all facilities. -Manage the schedule of the facilities and ensure there are no conflicts with the needs of the University of Richmond athletic teams. -Recommend and assist in the development of policies pertaining to the operational aspects of the Robins Center. -Serve as the liaison to physical plant and represent athletics on the University Facilities Committee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

-A thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, specifically pertaining to hosting games and events. -Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to perform accurate detail-oriented work, the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population and strong interpersonal skills are required.

WORK HOURS:

Full-time, exempt position Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week Requires work on weekends and nights for game day/special event coverage SALARY STRUCTURE:

Pay Grade 5 (Hiring Range $37,944.00 to $50,275.00 annually)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

-A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s preferred
-2-3 years of experience in a related field, collegiate athletics preferred.
