Conference Carolinas is a premiere NCAA Division II athletics conference located in Greenville, SC. Conference Carolinas is offering a one-year internship position for a female or underrepresented minority college graduate interested in working in collegiate athletic administration. Our office will provide on-the-job training and we request that applicants possess an interest in pursuing a career in the administration of intercollegiate athletics at the Division I, II, or III level.

This part-time, 10-month exempt internship assists five full-time staff members in the coordination and execution of all conference-sponsored championships and is responsible for assisting the conference staff in both internal and external operations related to the functioning of the conference office. This position will report directly to the Assistant Commissioner for Internal Operations. The Conference Carolinas internship will focus on the following three areas of administration: student-athlete programming, championships administration, and general conference and office administration.

The Conference Carolinas internship is structured to offer a comprehensive experience geared to prepare a well-rounded athletics administrator. Specific responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Serve as a daily assistant to the Assistant Commissioner. Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Primary focus in coordinating Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and other student-athlete leadership development initiatives.
  • Assist with the conference awards program.
  • Oversee the conference’s community engagement activities (i.e. community service), typically in conjunction with a conference championship event.
  • Working with vendors (i.e. apparel, awards, banners).
• Serve as the office manager of the conference office performing tasks such as ordering and purchasing supplies and equipment as well as coordinating the conference’s printing needs.
• Assist in coordinating meetings, especially coaches’ committees, by ensuring that agendas and supplements are created prior to various meetings, minutes are taken during meetings, and final reports are disseminated to the proper constituents.
• Attend and assist in the operations of championships as assigned by representing the conference at preliminary round championships sites, coordinating developmental championships, and assistant tournament directors with championship operations.
• Abide by NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.
• Completion of other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree. Cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work office hours during the week as well as nights, weekends and some holidays is required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
