Under close supervision of the Assistant Athletics Director (AD), Facilities & Events, assist with responsibilities and learn to manage events and their associated facility set-ups and needs for various ICA sport seasons. In conjunction with the Assistant Athletics Director of Facilities and Events, recruit, select, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate interns, student staff and volunteers. Work with the ICA Event Staff to coordinate events at the various facilities

EVENTS - 70% Work with the Assistant AD for Facilities and Events to assist in demonstrating leadership, supervision and direction for the event management plan for all ICA events, including game and practice scheduling, pre-season planning, and in-season game day management. Contact and organize with visiting teams regarding transportation, meals, game schedules and all other information that is pertinent to the contest, including pre-event practices. Contact and organize contest officials regarding time schedules, accommodations, transportation, meals, payment of game fees, and all other information as it pertains to the contest. Serve as the liaison to selected coaches and teams. Supervise and organize departmental and volunteer personnel regarding their event responsibilities, including game/equipment crew, grounds crew, press box and all other appropriate personnel. Aid in the coordination of NCAA and conference championship events held on campus, as well as help all other coordinators in the department to establish professional working relationships with various on campus units to ensure safety and security at all events.

FACILITIES - 20% In conjunction with the Facilities Coordinator, assist with the coordination of maintenance and repair of the facilities assigned, coordinate use scheduling for fields and gym spaces, help to manage ICA facility work orders, and assist with the management and oversight of necessary external operations and functions at ICA facilities.

SUPERVISION - 10% Work closely with other events and operations staff to train and supervise the assigned volunteer staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and think critically.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible, fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
•  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Apps.

Preferred

• Recent Graduate of UC Davis.
• Experience with scoreboard controllers and game clocks.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and/or Microsoft Publisher.
