The Professor of PE/ Assistant Men's Basketball Coach will be responsible to the Director of Athletics and the Head Men's Basketball Coach.  The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach shall be, but not limited to, the following: 1)  Assist Head Men's Basketball Coach as he sees fit involving team workouts, team travel, recruiting, and scheduling; 2) Assist Head Men's Basketball Coach to: a) Orientate each athlete as to grade requirements and expectations; b)  Monitor and encourage athletes to attend class and fulfill degree requirements; c)  Supervise Study Hall; d) Arrange for tutors in Learning Lab; e) Periodic grade checks; f) Assist in dorm supervision and dining hall when needed providing there is no conflict with athletic activities; 3) Responsible for the instruction and management of the athletic techniques course and weight training courses available for the track and field program; and, 4) Nothing contained herein shall limit the President in assigning the employee to any of the various college activities for which he/she would be qualified in order to meet the needs of New Mexico Junior College. 

Bachelor's degree required. Experience as a college basketball player or Assistant Coach in basketball.  Sound background and knowledge of basketball coaching.  Must be committed to excellence in instruction/coaching and willing to work. Must posses a valid driver's license.
