The University of South Alabama, a NCAA Division I institution, charter member of the Sun Belt Conference and located on the Gulf Coast in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking applicants for the position of Director, Athletic Development.
The position’s essential functions include: Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donors with an emphasis on restricted giving. Portfolio will include a caseload of 50-100 donors with annual giving capacity between $500-$10,000. Works with specific teams and coaches on engagement and solicitation strategies for special projects and needs. Accesses and maintains donor prospect information via Raiser’s Edge software. Works directly on Annual Fund communication and event hospitality. Builds and grows the J Club – Letterwinner’s Society. Supervises graduate assistants for Athletic Development and Intern Program. Responsible for oversight of restricted giving program. Ensures compliance with University, NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and state - federal rules and regulations. Assists with the planning and implementation of the department’s fundraising priorities and advancement activities. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required. Related duties as required by the Sr. Associate Athletic Director - Athletics Development, and Athletic Director.

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama and three years of experience in athletic fundraising, educational fundraising, sales or related field.
Master's degree in sports management or related field is preferred and will substitute for one year of the required experience.
