Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director (Coordinator of Athletic Programs 3)
Penn State Mont Alto is accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Information Director (SID). The Assistant Director of Athletics/SID will assist in the oversight of operations and facilities specific to the athletic department and will also be responsible for performance of day-to-day duties in the areas of sports information and communications. Areas of responsibility are:
Complete content production, design, and maintenance of the athletic website and social media outlets
Develop strategies to maximize media exposure for teams, student-athletes, athletic department, and campus
Coordinate all relations and functions with local and regional media covering athletics
Compile and record cumulative individual and team statistics, coordinate all record-keeping and statistics compilation
Complete daily, weekly, and seasonal reports as assigned by the conference office including the submission of award nominations
Work with director of public relations and marketing to develop and create athletic publications, and promotional/advertising pieces for camps and clinics; ensure University branding guidelines are followed
Develop and create game-day programs
Manage game day operations specific to set-up/break down of venues, train student-workers to assist with game day operations
Serve as official statistician at all home athletic events
Serve as a member of the campus Facilities Planning Committee; manage reservation system for athletic facilities, share schedules with appropriate staff to ensure fields/facilities are properly maintained
Direct oversight of camps/clinics —ensure University guidelines are met and required paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner
Direct oversight of the intramural program, organize and plan programming for the student body
A successful candidate will have a reputation for integrity and demonstrate and foster a positive attitude. Must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and support PSUAC and USCAA philosophies.
Typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher and two plus years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have strong time management, communication, and organizational skills; must be able to multi-task and is attentive to details. Requires knowledge of game rules and statistics for each sport. Ability to manage multiple social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Experience with Presto, Adobe InDesign/Photoshop, and Hudl is a plus. Position requires working some evenings and weekends.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.
