Overview: Central Michigan Athletics is accepting applications for a Creative Services Graduate Assistant or Temporary staff position within the CMU Athletic Communications department. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Communications & Marketing. This position is designed to expose the individual to all aspects of creative content producing and storytelling within college athletics including: strategic communications, revenue generation, fan engagement, marketing and branding initiatives, and perspective student-athlete recruitment.
Position Summary: Design and produce Central Michigan Athletics branding elements including but not limited to: graphics, social media content, billboards, posters, game programs, brochures, in-game slides, digital marketing, motion graphics, and facility branding. Coordinate and organize all graphic needs to produce creative and high-quality designs by assigned deadlines. Coordinate with the other creative services staff members to fulfil all graphics needs of the department including the overall brand, look and feel of all sport teams. Contribute to the production of materials for the recruitment of potential student-athletes. Assist with digital initiatives including content production and design of the official website, social media initiatives, video production and videoboard productions including animations/motion graphics. Assist in the day-to-day promotion and branding of CMU Athletics by working with other external units to develop and implement a consistent and effective creative production strategy. Represent the University and Department of Athletics in a professional manner. Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prior experience in graphic design.
Prior experience in animation/motion graphic design.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects.
Knowledge of current social and digital media trends and specifications.
Ability to interpret and utilize brand standards.
Excellent editing skills.
Excellent interpersonal verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and driven.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in graphic design, broadcasting, journalism, marketing, communications, or related field.
Prior experience utilizing the full Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and After Effects.
Prior experience with social media platforms
Additional Salary Information: This is a Non benefited position. Looking for either a Graduate Assistant full tuition waiver (excluding fees) with a stipend of $10,900 or a part time hourly temporary staff position with a salary of up to $24,000. This position will go from August – May 30, 2022
