The University of Connecticut Division of Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for a paid Video Production Assistant (VPA) internship position. The purpose of this position is to create compelling video content to market and promote UConn Athletics and its teams as well as video content for internal sport program purposes. The VPA will collaborate with multiple internal and external constituent groups to: identify and capture stories to cultivate fan engagement and the fan experience to a broad spectrum of fans, prospective student-athletes and others related to UConn Athletics; promote and extend the University of Connecticut Athletics brand and revenue generation; assists with development of unit workflows to produce ample and timely content; and is actively involved in the game-day atmosphere and fan experience.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assist the Assistant Athletic Director/Video Services and Assistant Video Directors in the production of all Athletics multimedia content including: shoot, edit and produce video content for use across multiple digital platforms including UConnHuskies.com and social media; direct and/or assist in the production of live streams for home events as needed; direct and/or assist in the production of features for in-venue video boards and other promotional applications; create motion graphics for use on multiple digital platforms and in-venue video boards; assist with all internal and external media requests for video footage; and other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree; previous experience in video production, shooting, editing and lighting; proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere & AE); experience with live event production; demonstrated experience working in a team environment; and excellent organizational and communication skills. The ability to work irregular schedules, nights, weekends and holidays is required.
Bachelor’s degree with coursework focus on Sports Management and/or Video Production; working knowledge of LiveStream, Xpression Graphics, Evertz Dreamcatcher and 3Play Replay Systems, Ross Carbonite and Broadcast Pix Switchers; experience working on sports productions; and experience working in college athletics.

This position is a 12-month appointment with a compensation of $26,640. Following administrative review, the position may be renewed for a second term.
