The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Operations Assistant to support the Women's Lacrosse program.
The Operations Assistant position exists to provide a high level of operational and logistical support to the Intercollegiate Athletic sport of Women's Lacrosse and to assist in achieving a nationally recognized program, both on and off the field, in a manner that meets all guidelines set by the University of Virginia, the ACC, and the NCAA. Responsibilities include: providing exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies; performing operational functions and tasks for the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and coaching staff, as requested; supporting operational and game day needs; and performing other duties as assigned that support, or add value to, the goals and objectives of the unit. This is a restricted term position with an anticipated end date 1 year from the start date. Continuation in the position will be evaluated annually.
Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's preferred.
Experience: Some experience and working knowledge of collegiate Lacrosse is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to be flexible in terms of work schedule to accommodate the game day and events schedule. Ability to prepare basic reports, provide information and perform operational functions. Ability to communicate accurately and in an effective manner - spoken and written. Ability to develop good working relationships with all internal and external constituencies. Working knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations for Lacrosse preferred.
Computer Applications: Experience with Microsoft Office suite required. Familiarity with TeamWorks, Chrome River, and Workday preferred.
