Position Description The multimedia journalist produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and/or feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers. The position promotes a favorable and consistent image of the department and the university for internal and external audiences, and champions the accomplishments of students, faculty, and/or staff.
Collaborate with broadcast and production team on broadcast projects.
Monitor post production processes to ensure accurate completion of details.
Produce shows for special occasions, such as signing day, pre-game and halftime.
Produce highlight packages for the department's weekly show and for social media output.
Work closely with individual sports on video production needs.
Assists in other productions as needed.
Encourages collaboration among multiple groups.
Comply with all NCAA, Big 12 and Texas Tech University rules, regulations and policies.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus one (1) year related experience; OR a combination of related education and/or experience equal to five (5) years.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); High-level of customer service and ability to handle multiple tasks.
Able to meet deadlines with organization skills; Knowledge of NCAA rules.
Proficiency with online and desktop publishing, including InDesign.
Familiarity and knowledge of StatCrew and online publishing software (Netitor).
Experience in working with social media tools.
Flexibility to travel and work night and weekend hours.
Minimum one (1) year of full-time progressive athletic communications/media relations/sports. information experience in a collegiate or professional setting.
