This full-time position is responsible for assisting the Assistant Athletic Director of External Relations and the general athletic administration with the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Department's Media Relations Unit. The incumbent will be responsible for providing creative video services to promote the University's Athletics Department, its student-athletes, and coaches.
Responsible for owning the creative video production process from start to finish, including conceptualizing, coordinating, writing, shooting, and editing of videos for UAlbanySports.com, @UAlbanySports social media accounts, in-venue video boards, and television commercials Spearhead the production of highlight/interview packages, behind-the-scenes features, student-athlete profiles, social media hype videos, human interest stories, intro videos, and in-game marketing elements Serve as a member of the Creative Content team responsible for the development and management of the UAlbany Athletics video content database Assist with the design of graphics for athletic website, social media, and various publications and generate and share video content for use in promotional videos on social media platforms Assist in creating video and still graphic content for use on video boards Annually attend the mandatory sexual violence prevention program as required by federal, state, SUNY, and University policies and procedures prior to or at the beginning of the academic year. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director of External Relations.
Bachelor's Degree in sports administration, administrative, business, or related discipline from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization
Two (2) years of experience in sports video production at the college level or in the television or other mass communications fields
Proficiency as a cinematographer, including technical skill with DSLR/cinema cameras and editing on non-linear editing software
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and expertise in video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or the Adobe Creative Suite (Premier Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop)
Ability to demonstrate creativity in both shooting and editing, and produce innovative content without direct supervision
General knowledge of NCAA, CAA, America East & MAAC rules and regulations
Possess a good understanding of collegiate athletics and be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment
