The PERA Department is seeking an individual with experience in working within a community of diverse students and colleagues. Successful candidates will by their administrative, professional skills, leadership and service demonstrate they can contribute to the diversity and excellence of athletics, the department and our community.
This is a full-time 11 month position with benefits.
Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Facilities and Operations, the Assistant Director will:
Manage the department facility schedule (Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation)
Ensure proper set up and function of all game day related equipment including sound systems and scoreboards
Serve as event manager for various intercollegiate events in the fall, winter and spring
Manage student and professional event staff for intercollegiate events, including budgeting, hiring, training, assigning, and serving as a mentor for student workers
Attend and actively participate in Department Event meetings
Create, issue and manage contracts for 13 varsity sports, inputting all events into the College’s 25Live reservation system
Issue and follow up on all department work orders, working closely with the Facilities Management team
Serve as Tournament/Invitational Director for select events hosted by Wellesley College
Support and assist with planning, logistics and execution of special events in all areas of the department
Entry level, prior experience as a Graduate Assistant or 1-2 years in athletic office preferred.
