ROLE of the POSITION
The Assistant Director of Business Operations will be responsible for reviewing, auditing, and approving assigned athletic department purchase orders, supplier invoice request, p-card transactions, expense reports, spend authorizations, and other Workday transactions. He/she will be expected to identify, review, and make recommendations for process and policy improvements and ways to streamline operations. They will be responsible for understanding all institutional and department policies as it relates to reviewing of assigned documents. The position will also assist in monitoring the Athletic Department trade program, serve as the business office liaison to the department CARS program, and other business office responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Associate AD /CFO and Assistant AD, Business Operations. The individual will also be responsible for assisting the Senior Associate AD/CFO & Assistant AD, Business Operations with the preparation, development, day-to-day monitoring, and communication of the Athletic Department's annual operating budget.
This position should also have a basic knowledge of NCAA rules as it pertains to assigned job duties and the scope of employment. In addition, this position will be responsible for obtaining proper guidance or approval from Athletics Compliance, prior to participating in select activities, as defined by NCAA bylaws or institutional policies.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum two (2) years of related experience. Previous experience in athletics or event management is preferred. Bachelor's Degree with a focus on finance, accounting, or business is strongly preferred. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
