Position Summary: This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Videographer 1 position for the Department of Athletics at Oregon State University (OSU).
The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
The Videographer reports to the Director of Video Production and is responsible for recording video inventory as directed. This position is also responsible for venue set up and will manage the technical aspect associated with the site so that the broadcasts are of quality images and sound.
Position Duties: 35% CREATIVE VIDEO Responsible for crafting creative video content that effectively tells the story of OSU Athletics; this includes pre-production, ideation, scheduling, equipment management, filming, archiving footage, editing and post- production.
35% IN-GAME Responsible for filming cinematic in-game highlights of specific sports, as directed, for post-production purposes. Responsible for producing highlights of events that tell the story beyond what happened in competition, providing emotion, context and meaning to facts through video and sound.
10% LEADERSHIP Provides leadership, trains, and assigns work to video intern and student workers, as applicable.
10% LIVE PRODUCTION Position may occasionally require working in live production roles, including but not limited to: camera operator, director, technical director and replay operator.
5% STREAMING Responsible for setting up hardware and software to stream specific competitive and special events digitally.
5% SPECIAL EVENTS Responsible for filming assigned athletic department functions and related events, including: weekly Coaches Press Conferences (Football, Men’s Basketball, and others when necessary), Athletic Director press conferences, specific department functions and student-athlete community service endeavors.
Three years of television production videography experience.
Additional Required Qualifications
Familiarity with video software, such as Premiere Pro, Avid, Final Cut, Vegas, or like software.
Working knowledge of digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras for video.
Experience recording video and editing content for digital platform distribution, such as social media (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram) or web sites.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
One (1) years of full-time video experience in an athletic department at an NCAA Institution or in professional sports (including minor league). Student experience will be counted as part-time.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
Working knowledge live streaming software.
