Highland Community College is a public institution located in Highland, Kansas, a NJCAA Division II program and a member of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. This is a full-time 10-month contract with benefits including single coverage/health dental insurance paid by the College. Position will be available August 1, 2021.
SUMMARY This position assists in the coordination of the HCC Track/Cross Country team by performing all duties assigned by the Head Coach and Athletic Director to the best of their ability and in a professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
-Attend coaches' meetings and clinics for professional growth.
-Attend and take part in the in-service training provided by the Head Coach.
-Be familiar with and follow the policies of Highland Community College, the NJCAA, and the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
-Assist the Head Coach in recruiting activities.
-Attend all practices, workouts, and home and away contests in the Track/Cross Country Program.
-Remain until all participants have left facilities or designate a responsible person to remain.
-Teach sportsmanship and set an example of good moral and physical behavior.
-Help manage the teams' social media accounts and promote the program through marketing and social media.
-Work continually with the Athletic Director and other coaches to upgrade the total athletic program.
-Teach fundamentals, techniques, etc., as directed by the Head Coach.
-Assume responsibility of assisting the head coach, under his/her supervision, in performing assigned responsibilities.
-Assist the Head Coach with driving responsibilities to away contests.
-Be loyal to the Head Coach and his/her program.
-Attend other activities of the school as often as possible.
Valid driver's license with no major infractions for the past five years.
Must be eligible for employment by any U.S. employer. HCC does not provide sponsorship.
Additional Salary Information: College pays single coverage health & dental for employee. Low-cost housing available.
