The University of Missouri is now accepting applications for 2 Event Managers with a targeted start date of mid-July. This position will perform a variety of tasks assisting the event operations team with carrying out day-to-day operations for athletic programs, sports park security, outside event rentals and event staffing. Successful candidates will have the ability to communicate effectively with the general public, students, coaches and administrators, have a strong work ethic, possess excellent organizational and time management skills, be customer service oriented, have a high level of computer proficiency with knowledge of Word, Excel, and other software programs; have the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required, and possess the ability to research, rationalize and resolve game/event management issues and conflicts.
Additional functions of these positions to include: assistance and coordination of all game/event day management (maintenance, scheduling, cleaning, set-up, parking, event staffing); coordination of game day logistics with appropriate sport to ensure competitive conditions; assist with the management of guest services and security staff, maintains current knowledge of SEC and NCAA rules and regulations as they pertain to game/event management. This position is a non-benefit eligible appointment with an average monthly pay of $1700. This position will work under minimal supervision and will report to the Director of Event Operations. Bachelors degree plus related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in game/event management; Sports Management degree or coursework and previous experience working within an intercollegiate athletic program in game management preferred. Must have a valid driver license with a good driving record and be insurable.
