Western New England University invites applications for a Sports Information Graduate Assistant.
The University, a member of the Commonwealth Coast Conference and currently home to 20 varsity NCAA sports, is seeking the right person to assist with the administration and success of the Athletics Communications department.
This person will report to the Athletics Communication Director and assist in leading all aspects of an NCAA Division III athletic communications program. Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills and be able to interact effectively and appropriately with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, peers, community members, and administrators. Candidates must possess the necessary administrative skills, maintain and ensure student-athlete academic integrity, demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Western New England University and NCAA Division III.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to game day statistics, social media content creation, creating game day programs and other printed promotional materials, and writing post game recaps.
Essential functions include:
•Assist the director in managing all in-game operations for home athletic events as it relates to live streaming, live statistics, broadcasting, public address announcing and photography •Implement and manage the departments digital marketing strategy including the creation of timely and relevant digital content •Assist the director with the management of sports information student workforce •Service to institution as assigned by the Director of Athletics & Recreation or the head coach. •Adherence to NCAA, conference, departmental, and university policies, procedures and expectations. •Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics and/or Head Coach.
Anticipated start date is August 15, 2021.

For this position, we require that candidates have a bachelor's degree and prior experience working in a sports information office is preferred. Additionally, we are seeking candidates with knowledge in the following technologies: Website management (Presto preferred), Live statistics platforms and experience inputting live statistics for our 20 sports, social media platforms and the software associated with creating digital content.
A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is required. Travel is required as well as evening and weekend work.
Candidates will be expected to be enroll in the Masters of Science and Sports Leadership and Coaching Graduate Program.
