The Director of Women’s Soccer Operations assists the Head Coach in the administration of all aspects of the Women’s Soccer program. Reporting to the Head Women’s Soccer Coach, the Director of Women’s Soccer Operations works to further VCU Athletics’ mission to win conference and national championships, provide a first-class student-athlete experience, serve as a source of pride for the University and community, and cultivate graduates who excel as leaders.
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist the coaching staff in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including, but not limited to, player development, scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, and equipment; Key focus on helping to maintain team culture and mission. This area will be especially critical and will require videos, presentations, discussions, and thinking outside the box; Create programming for student-athletes that demonstrates a progression from year to year with a particular emphasis on leadership development, community outreach, diversity and inclusion, mental health wellness, financial education and character development; Assist program with all phases of recruiting preparation; Assists the coaching staff with video coordination and breakdown; Assist with monitoring the academic progression of student-athletes on the team; Manage equipment usage/needs with equipment staff; Coordinate the use of facilities via the Facilities staff.
- A bachelor’s degree; - Coaching experience or playing experience; - Valid driver’s license; - Must possess strong administrative and organizational skills to manage assignments, personnel, equipment, and material resources; - Seeking an individual with high attention to detail and willingness to take initiative; - Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do as a staff member at VCU.
