Under the direct supervision of the Athletic Director, this person will be responsible for and/or assist with the coordination of specific aspects of the Indian Hills Athletic Department. Responsibilities will include but not be restricted to: coordination of event management for home athletic events, and assistance with Booster Club events and fundraising. In addition, this position’s responsibilities include serving as the Sports Information Director for the athletic department. These responsibilities will include coordination of media coverage for all athletic events and oversight of the college’s athletic website. Preference will be given to applicants who have graphic design and video production experience, with preference given to candidates who have experience with Adobe Creative Suite and InDesign.
Positive and successful experience in administration of intercollegiate athletics preferred.
Must have the ability to evaluate personnel and give positive reinforcement and objective direction.
Must relate well with the public and should have the capabilities to work with students, faculty, staff and administrators.
Previous administrative experience in coordination of event management and sports information preferred.
Basic knowledge of NJCAA bylaws, rules and regulations.
Management and organizational skills are essential.
Maintains knowledge of NJCAA, ICCAC and Indian Hills Community College policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
Assist in ensuring the department’s 16 athletic programs are in compliance with all department, college, Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), and NJCAA rules and regulations.
Assist with Booster Club operations, departmental sponsorships and fundraising.
Develop and monitor a checklist for set-up of home athletic events.
Develop and maintain an appreciation for academic integrity as well as developing positive relationships with faculty, Department Chairs, Program Directors and Academic Deans.
Attend athletic events as assigned and work with game management personnel to ensure events run in accordance with ICCAC and NJCAA rules.
Assist in management of budgets for all athletic programs.
Promote IHCC athletics within the community by being active in community groups and events.
Participate and assist with IHCC Foundation activities.
Assume the Athletic Director’s responsibilities in their absence.
Attend meetings with or in place of the Athletic Director.
Act in a consultative role to the Athletic Director on all athletic matters.
Serve as the college’s Sports Information Director.
Coordinate media relations for all sports.
Maintain data bases for statistics and records for all athletic programs.
Develop and maintain content for department social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software.
Maintain the college’s athletic website and ensure that it is updated regularly to reflect changes in areas such as team rosters and schedules.
Prepare game recaps, season previews and reviews, feature stories, and general news releases for the college’s athletic website, social media platforms and media outlets.
Maintain the athletic department brand guide and uphold the marketing and branding standards set forth by the athletic department.
Maintain and utilize the athletic department app including push notifications for athletic events.
Be knowledgeable about and have ability to produce content for all institutional and NJCAA initiatives, including, but not limited to; NJCAA Week, national signing periods/signing days, weekly and post season awards/honors, and national tournament berths.
Assist marketing department with athletic department photography needs.
Assist marketing department with development of schedule posters, media guides
Work alongside Go Hills TV team to assist with broadcast production of IHCC athletic events and programming.
Assist with HomeTown Ticketing platform for home athletic events.
Assist with oversight of student workers within the athletic department.

Schedule: 9 hrs/day, Monday-Thursday. Ability to work some nights and weekends.
