Senior Associate Athletic Director, Annual Giving

The University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department is seeking a Senior Associate Athletic Director for Annual Giving. The incumbent will report to the Executive Associate Athletic Director, Philanthropy & Engagement, and will serve as the leader of all annual giving related to the strategy and efforts for the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Athletics. The incumbent will balance the unlimited potential for philanthropic generosity from Pitt alumni, parents, and fans, with the critical revenue streams associated with annual scholarship funding, which is connected to priority ticket and parking allocation for Pitt football and men’s and women’s basketball. The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Annual Giving will develop an annual strategy to drive campaigns to grow both participation and financial support within the Panther Club. Additionally, the incumbent will plan and execute both holistic and sport-specific solicitation appeals via direct mail, telephone, email, and social media.
The incumbent will manage the Panther Club’s priority point program, which rewards the most generous donors with priority access to tickets/parking/events and develop an annual communication and solicitation calendar in collaboration with his/her university counterparts in annual giving. The incumbent must ensure the gift acknowledgment process is timely, accurate, and effective and evaluate/lead any enhancements to processes, objectives, and goals to dramatically improve the reach and effectiveness of the program. The incumbent will be tasked with managing and redesigned a comprehensive annual giving program in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). This position must be well-versed in industry best practices and constantly evaluate ways to ensure that the Panther Club is best positioned to provide our student-athletes with the necessary resources to compete for conference and national championships. Additionally, this person will also identify and personally solicit annual fund gifts of $3,000+ by managing a moderately sized pool of prospects. He/She will work closely with other departments within Pitt Athletics including the Pitt Ticket Office, Marketing, and other External Relations units to ensure a robust, donor-centric approach to all fundraising efforts. The incumbent is expected to appear and participate at multiple Pitt Athletics competitions and events, including all home football and men’s basketball games, maintaining a presence at our most widely attended events. The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Annual Giving will have the opportunity to hire, manage, and develop one (1) full-time staff member as part of the annual giving team.
