This key addition to our staff will be a proven and thoughtful manager and leader, decorated fundraiser, and strategic relationship builder to add to an already dynamic and growing staff. The incumbent is responsible for the overall strategic planning and administration of major gifts for the University of Pittsburgh Department of Athletics and should have demonstrated experience directly leading and managing others. Initiatives and responsibilities focus on soliciting and securing major gifts from the $100,000 to $5,000,000 range and assisting with the implementation of strategic procedures and best practices for the athletics development unit in its entirety. Responsibilities include oversight of major gifts staff and strategy, creation and implementation of appropriate giving societies, high-level unit-wide administration, budget oversight, versatile leadership, and the fostering of positive relationships with both internal University partners and external alumni, parents, and friends of Pitt Athletics. Strategic planning includes the development of plans for both individual and corporate solicitations, home and away competition donor cultivation strategies, and successful campaign execution. The incumbent will report directly to the Executive Associate Athletics Director for Philanthropy & Engagement, and work in partnership with the entire athletics development staff, Director of Athletics, Deputy Director of Athletics, and Sr. Vice Chancellor for Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement, to serve Pitt Athletics as we progress through a successful campaign and beyond.
