Assistant Athletic Director, Academics

The Assistant Athletic Director provides leadership to the Academic Center for Student-Athletes. Responsibilities include: Leading 3 full-time Academic Advisors and multiple student workers; Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Academic Center for Student-Athletes (budget, staff meetings, all necessary reports); Coordinating & monitoring academic success for assigned teams; Partnering with Compliance relating to APR and eligibility; Representing department on America East meetings; Participating in Senior staff meeting; Teaching a freshman orientation course; Liaising with Residential Life, Admissions, Graduate School, and the Registrar’s office when necessary.

Requires a Bachelor's Degree in counseling, education, special education, curriculum and instruction, sports psychology or sport related field. At least three years (5-7 preferred) of professional experience working in an academic advising, teaching, or counseling, preferably with Division I student-athletes required. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds are required. Preferred Qualifications:
