Reporting to the Head Football Coach and Director of Football Operations, the Director of Player Engagement is responsible for providing direction and support to the development of the Northwestern Football student-athlete. This position will provide day-to-day support to student-athletes in areas such as community engagement, academic progress, ‘big brother’ and mentoring programs. Supporting all diversity and inclusion initiatives, this position will hold a leadership role with the NU Football program.

Please note: Willingness and ability work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Travel required.

Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee programming that supports the personal development and overall experience of football student-athletes including, but not limited to:

  Freshman onboarding

  Big Brother program

  Alumni Mentoring Program

  Faith Development initiatives

• Serve as program liaison with NUDAR Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and JEDI taskforce, coordinating and supporting diversity and inclusion curriculum for student-athletes and staff.
• Organize and support community engagement initiatives in conjunction with community relations department.
• Serve as liaison to Academic Services, overseeing the academic progress of current student-athletes.
• Assist in coordinating off-season ‘Wildcat Games’ competition.
• Oversee and coordinate NU Branch App to engage current and former players; build alumni networks and program engagement.
• Assist with day-to-day operations including, but not limited to: on-campus recruiting, team travel, pre-season campus and post-season travel.
