The University of Missouri is seeking qualified candidates to fill one (1) Graduate Assistantship position in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Reporting to the Deputy Athletics Director for Mizzou Made, Integrated Healthcare & Inclusion, this position will work in all facets of the Mizzou Inclusive Excellence Initiative (MIEI) and student-athlete development areas. The MIEI graduate assistant responsibilities will include assisting in the planning and implementation of the Mizzou Youth Experience and the Inclusive Excellence Mile, assisting with the Mizzou Athletics Committee on Inclusive Excellence and the Missouri College Advising Corps, and helping with the Student Athletes Fostering Equality leadership group. In addition, this position will assist in Mizzou Made programming, community outreach, career development programming, and the honors and awards process and other duties as assigned by the Deputy Athletics Director for Mizzou Made, Integrated Healthcare, & Inclusion.
The graduate assistant position offers a tuition waiver and monthly stipend. Appointments will be reviewed annually and comparable funding and duties are available for summer. Expected start date is August 2, 2021. Bachelor's degree required in an appropriate discipline, a background in athletics and an intent to work in the field of diversity & inclusion and student-athlete development, excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong self-starter, excellent organizational skills and great attention to detail. As working in the field of student-athletic services is not limited to a traditional work week, the successful candidate must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
