Athletic Marketing & Promotions Graduate Assistant

The Athletic Marketing & Promotions Graduate Assistant (AMGA) will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Promotions, & Tickets for all duties associated with the planning and implementing of the Athletic Department’s comprehensive marketing and promotions plan in accordance with Northern Kentucky University (NKU), Horizon League and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) guidelines. The AMGA is responsible for coordinating the marketing and promotional efforts – including, but not limited to, designing and editing advertising materials, email marketing, social media, creating promotional plans, etc. – for a minimum of two sports. The AMGA will communicate effectively with each athletic department, as well as campus marketing and communications, to promote the University’s Athletics programs. The AMGA aids the Assistant AD for Marketing, Promotions, & Tickets in development of programming to ensure a positive fan experience, as well as managing and executing in-game promotions at several sports, including men’s and women’s basketball. The Graduate Assistant will also work closely with the Coordinator of Marketing & Promotions and the Coordinator of Athletic Ticketing. Primary Responsibilities Regular Duties: • Full marketing and promotions support for a minimum of two (2) sports programs, potentially including men’s soccer, women’s soccer, and softball, with the focus of increasing revenue and attendance. • Manage all aspects of Norse Kids’ Club, with a focus on growth • Manage all department charitable donation requests • Assist with major ticket sales campaigns, including cold calls, follow-up calls, mailings, and email communication • Design and edit advertising materials • Develop content for email marketing, webpages, videoboard, and other promotional materials • Assist with implementing social media programs, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok • Assist in the implementation of men’s and women’s basketball promotions and in-game entertainment • Provide support for select athletic events not part of assigned sports. • Write scripts and timing sheets for selected sports • Comply with NKU, Horizon League and NCAA regulations. Occasional Duties: • Provide marketing/special events support to non-revenue sports such as golf, tennis, track and field, etc. • Assist in publicizing special events such as golf tournaments, Go Norse Fund Gala, and postseason play • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Salary Information: $13.08 per hour (24 hrs per week); tuition for up to 18 credits per year
