| McPherson College is seeking a collaborative and dynamic individual eager to serve as the Assistant/Associate Athletic Director. (The title will be provided commensurate with experience and education).
This position is responsible for assisting in the management of all athletic activities, events, and personnel and is actively involved in student-athlete enrollment and retention efforts. The successful applicant must be comfortable mentoring athletic staff, being a campus leader, and managing a budget. The recommended applicant should be prepared to participate in a robust athletic strategic plan.
The Assistant/Associate Athletic Director position is an exempt, full-time, 12-month position and is eligible for college benefits. This position reports to the Athletic Director and is a member of the Athletic Department’s leadership team.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of three to five years’ experience in collegiate sports management and coaching at the college level. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary. Bachelor’s degree is required and a master’s degree is preferred.
McPherson College’s athletic department consists of 15 varsity teams, of which five currently have junior varsity rosters. McPherson College was 4th in the Commissioner’s Cup standings (KCAC) and 87th in the Director’s Cup standings (NAIA), the college’s highest finish on both lists. Currently of the 850 students enrolled, four hundred (400) are student-athletes.
