Essential Functions • Make phone calls to donors and prospects to secure donations. • Lead the Athletic Department’s premium sales and stewardship management needs. • Identify new and cultivate/steward existing introductory-to-high level athletics donors. • Serve as primary contact for a portfolio of mid-level annual donors and major gift prospects. • Meet and exceed personal fundraising metrics and contribute to team goals. • Advance the John Purdue Club (JPC) membership, marketing, and communications efforts, while furthering the overarching Athletics Department goal of developing student-athletes into scholars, champions, and citizens. • Some travel and weekend work required.
Premium Seating • Lead and direct sales, stewardship, and marketing efforts for premium seating in Ross-Ade Stadium, Mackey Arena, Bittinger Field and Alexander Field. • Coordinate the premium seating renewal cycle for football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball. • In conjunction with JPC operations team, direct and coordinate game day operations for premium seat areas for all sports.
John Purdue Club • Assist in the personal recruitment, retention, and advancement of JPC members. • Assist in annual giving efforts of JPC, including the donor renewal process, donor recruitment, and donor advancement. • Manage portfolio of 750+ major gift and annual fund donors, initiating and nurturing relationships with donors through phone calls, face to-face visits, events, and personal stewardship/cultivation initiatives. • Work with major gift team to qualify major gift prospects. • Assist with special JPC events, both on and off campus.
Miscellaneous • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Superior initiative, motivation, interpersonal, and customer service skills required, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders from a wide variety of professional and cultural backgrounds. • Ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels required. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent problem solving, analytical, quantitative, organizational and project management skills necessary. • Must be able to multi-task and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Personal computing and related software skills, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database management, data queries necessary. • Capable of adhering to and complying with Purdue University, Purdue Research Foundation, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA applicable rules, policies, procedures, and regulations. • Ability to build relationships with constituents. • Regular and reliable attendance are requirements of this position. Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree required. • Minimum of two years of fundraising, sales, marketing, and customer service. • Customer service focus and background a high priority. • Athletic fundraising or sales experience preferred.
