The Director of Athletics Video and Network Production will support Holy Cross Athletics and engage fans through delivering broadcast content and programming and producing creative and engaging original video for ESPN/Patriot League Network, FloHockey, CBS All-Access, regional and national television, and other official department channels and opportunities. This person will work with regional and national TV affiliates, Crusader Sports Properties, and Holy Cross' creative team to enhance the Holy Cross brand, support revenue generation, bolster fan engagement and tell the story of Holy Cross Athletics and its student-athletes. This position will also oversee the Creative Content Producer and a robust seasonal staff. Applicants should submit a digital portfolio of creative work if available.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Use video in traditional and digital mediums to advance the mission and goals of Holy Cross Athletics
Conceptualize, develop and execute full-scale video productions, including, but not limited to, the creation of graphics, editing of in-game and postgame highlights, setting up, tearing down and maintenance of production room (or satellite site) and equipment, and shooting of promos, commercials, interviews and features
Serve as the executive producer for all live broadcast content
Develop game formats to include commercial timing, pre-production, interviews and sponsor elements
Oversee Creative Content Producer and creative video projects, as well as recruit and develop robust seasonal staff and internship program
Present as a leading voice within creative strategy discussions, including interfacing with internal teams to produce innovative content representative of the Holy Cross Athletics brand and message
Manage production projects from conception through completion, including producing, budgeting, scheduling, production team management, post-production supervision and distribution
Interface with the Patriot League, ESPN, NESN, FloSports and other entities to coordinate and deliver broadcast content
Responsible for pre- and post-production elements, including lighting, editing, audio, and writing for original productions, either independently or in collaboration with members of the external operations team
Create hype videos, intro videos, features and other non-broadcast original content independently or in collaboration with Creative Content Producer
Bachelor's degree in a related field
2-3 years of experience in a broadcast production setting; experience with ESPN networks preferred
Considerable experience utilizing Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects and Photoshop or equivalent programs
Extensive knowledge of digital media landscape, both technical and creative
Experience working on live productions, serving in director and/or producer role
Experience managing a small team and working cross-functionally to achieve department goals
Strong technical skills and ability to leverage emerging media
Understanding of audio/video technology and ability to stay up-to-date on industry standards and advancements
Ability to operate, maintain and teach others on necessary broadcast equipment, including but not limited to TriCaster, replay system, LiveText, AJT, camera operation, etc.
Extensive production experience in logistics, budgeting, scheduling, writing, audio & video editing and storytelling a plus
Experience creating hype videos, intro videos, features and other non-broadcast original content a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively with tight deadlines
Strong quantitative analytical ability; excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for emerging media trends and technology
Ability to work regular and extended hours required
This is a full time, exempt level position.
