Associate A.D./Assistant A.D. for Operations and Facilities

The position will be filled as an an Associate AD or an Assistant AD role depending on qualifications and experience. The position will perform a variety of tasks and functions to oversee and assist with day-to-day and event/game operations for all athletic programs. Responsible for planning and management of all assigned home athletics events. Includes securing and managing full time, part-time, temporary and volunteer event, operations, security and other staff as needed to execute assigned duties. This position will be the primary point for most visiting teams. If not the primary point of contact, at a minimum, this position will be responsible for coordinating and communicating the primary point of contact with the visiting teams. Responsible for scheduling, set-up, take-down of all practices or other athletics-related events other than games. Includes working with all Lipscomb coaching staffs and other campus constituents to ensure scheduling is coordinated with one another. Responsible for keeping all athletics-related facilities “game ready and guest ready” at all times. That includes Allen Arena, McQuiddy Gym and all outdoor fields and athletics facilities. Ensures and coordinates all maintenance work (regularly scheduled or emergency), game prep or other work as needed to maintain facilities. Position will be expected to assume game administrator duties at a number of different games and events, day/night/weekday/weekend, throughout the school year. As assigned by the Director of Athletics, this position will be expected to be the primary point of contact in charge of logistics for tournaments and/or special events (dinners, ceremonies, celebrations) and similar athletics-related events. Assists in the development and execution of all athletic department customer service initiatives; department emergency policies and procedures and visiting team guides and procedures. Primary point of contact for any requests to use athletics facilities which are made by outside entities or constituents. Position will be required to clear any such use with the Associate A.D. for Compliance and Budgets before agreeing to such use. In conjunction with the Director of Athletics work to help manage any capital projects, facility improvements or departmental projects, as requested. Prepare detailed and comprehensive reports for Director of Athletics, as requested, of trends, findings and recommendations relating to operations, facilities, game management, capital improvements or other program-enhancing initiatives. Will work with other Sport Administrators and coaches, as needed, to ensure that summer or other seasonal camp needs and expectations are being met. Responsible for working with Lipscomb Events Management, Lipscomb Entertainment and Technical Services, Sodexo (food service) and any other campus partners, as needed, to successfully produce athletics related events. Depending on experience of the candidate, Sport Administrator duties may or may not be included initially in this role. If Sport Administrator duties are not included initially, then this role would be expected to take on such duties in the future as interest and aptitude dictate.
