·Coordinate and implement comprehensive student-athlete development programming for approximately 500 student-athletes and coaches, including oversight of the student-athlete development budget and supervision of a full-time student-athlete development professional and assistant student-athlete development coordinator (intern).
·Oversee facilitation and teaching for the RST 199 – Freshman Transition to College course.
·Oversee facilitation and teaching for the RST 199 – Junior/Senior Transition out of sport course.
·Serve as the liaison between the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics and other student support offices on campus.
·Implement career development education for student-athletes.
·Oversee implementation of leadership development programming for student-athletes.
·Oversee implementation of community engagement initiatives for student-athletes.
·Oversee creation and implementation of the marketing plan for Student-Athlete Development to include newsletter, programming menu and outreach opportunities. Advise Student-Athlete Leadership Groups
·Oversee, advise and direct activities of the Executive Board of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
·Oversee, advise and direct activities of the Executive Board of the EMPOWER student-athlete affinity group.
Required: Master’s degree in education, counseling, sport management or related field
Required: Experience in programming; demonstrated personal relations skills in works with student-athletes, peers, staff, and administrative personnel
Preferred: Experience working directly in an athletic department or academic support unit for student-athletes in the realm of student-athlete development or life skills
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and compliance with specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.
Strong written and oral communication skills
