Under the general supervision of the Senior Associate Athletic Director - Student Services, the Director of Meditation Training will provide leadership and vision for Meditation Training at UW Athletics which includes a collaboration with senior staff, coaches and student athletes and with community and national leaders to ensure quality.
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Create and deliver novel meditation training's for coaches, staff and student athletes at a team and individual level and integrate meditation training's into overall training when applicable
• Supervise consultants providing training's
• Lead efforts to integrate meditation training across all of UW Athletics
• Stay informed of current industry and scientific insights of meditation and lead research into the impacts of meditation training
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred; Five years of experience providing meditation training is required. Three years providing meditation training to athletes preferred.
Additionally, working knowledge of and ability to apply NCAA and Big Ten compliance rules is preferred. The most qualified candidate will possess: ability to develop strong working relationships with student-athletes, staff and coaches; knowledge of NCAA eligibility rules, strong attention to detail, be highly organized and also have the ability to handle multiple tasks. The candidate should also have experience working with diverse groups of individuals in various settings and knowledge of unique factors affecting collegiate student-athletes.
Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% FTE Academic Staff appointment. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included. Anticipated start date on or after March 1, 2020.
