Will coach defense and implement the plan and philosophy for the total defense.
Will be responsible for all aspects of the defensive plan and scheme as delegated by the head coach.
Will help develop the off-season program. Will assist Head Coach in the day-to-day operation of the program. Will be expected to become knowledgeable with the weight training and conditioning program.
Demonstrates an active interest in the academic progress of student athletes in an attempt to prevent academic eligibility problems. This includes enrollment procedures, degree checks, and advising and class attendance.
Assist with the coordination and overseeing of completed financial aid paperwork, admission criteria and eligibility certifications.
Will oversee work-study personnel at the football complex.
Will be responsible for recruiting one region or area of the state of Kansas as determined by the Head Coach.
Will recruit and coordinate/assist the out-of-state recruiting effort.
Will be responsible for the defensive scouting reports.
Will make sure all bulletin boards are kept up, both at the complex and football office.
Teach 12 credit hours in Health, Physical Education and Wellness curriculums as directed by the HPER Department Chair.
Revise course material and update content maintaining current syllabus for each course taught. In addition, to providing two copies of each syllabus to the Dean of Academic Services and one copy to the HPER Department Chair.
Serve on college committees as appointed and actively participate in college and community activities.
Perform special assignments and related duties as they apply to the football program.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to effectively work with various publics and diverse populations. Human Relation skills of ordinary courtesy, understanding and ability to stimulate motivation, confidence and enthusiasm in students.
Willingness to enforce institutional policies.
Ability to coordinate with campus personnel to resolve problem conflicts.
A knowledge in the area of football specifically with expertise on defense.
At least three years coaching/participation experience, preferably at the post-secondary level.
Teaching experience preferred.
