Major Duties Under general supervision, the Assistant Event Manager assists with the planning and execution of all game day operations, for all home hosted athletic contests and special events, while operating within the scope and intent of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Conference and University regulations. The incumbent assists with the planning, organizing and implementation of game management for all 19 NCAA recognized sports, specifically assisting the Athletics Event Management and Game Operations Manager in the coordination of public safety, parking, officials, visiting team requests, strategic communications (Public Address Announcer and Scoreboard Operator), marketing and promotions, etc.; creates game day protocol sheets, internal use events sheets, floorplans (as needed); reserves and secures event day locker rooms, post event interview room, parking passes and golf carts for officials; publishes end of year summary; oversees all event day/part time staff on game days; assists with event day staff hiring; assists the Athletic Event Management and Game Operations Manager with spring internship program; coordinates with internal Athletics staff to assist with non-competition special events; utilizes campus golf cart and vehicle to pick up items and run errands on and off campus as needed; assists with overseeing all internal storage areas and conducts inventory and equipment checks; and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Equivalent to three (3) years of full-time, general office clerical work that has provided the applicant with the knowledge and abilities listed. Equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in business or job-related field may be substituted for up to two (2) years of the required experience on a year for year basis. California Driver's License is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Thorough knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and office methods and basic filing systems procedures and practices. Ability and specialized skills to: organize, coordinate, and prioritize multiple tasks; learn, identify, and independently interpret and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures; investigate, analyze, and resolve routing clerical problems; possess first aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain; work in a busy environment with frequent interruptions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; prepare and draft memoranda and correspondence; keep moderately complex records and files; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; operate standard office equipment; and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, When To Work, Arbitar, and Jump Forward.

The salary range for this classification is: $2600 - $4592 per month. The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $2600 - $2833, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours per week; 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
